UAE Launches Instalment Payments for ICP Service Fees from Dh500

Dubai, UAE — The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) has unveiled a new payment initiative allowing residents to pay ICP service fees in instalments via credit cards. The measure, part of ICP’s “The Authority at Your Service” programme, was launched during GITEX Global 2025.

What’s New

  • Minimum transaction: The instalment option applies for ICP service fees of Dh 500 or more.
  • Repayment period: Residents can choose between 3 to 12 months to pay off their fees without interest.
  • Eligible banks: Ten local banks have been approved to participate. These include First Abu Dhabi Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, ADCB, Emirates Islamic, Emirates NBD, CBD, Sharjah Islamic Bank, Mashreq Bank, RAKBANK, and Visa partnership.
  • How to request: The instalment plan can be activated through the bank’s call centre or via service channels. Also, Visa-cardholders have access to direct instalment services.

Why This Matters

  • The move aims to reduce the financial burden for those paying large ICP fees (such as visa, Emirates ID, or residency-related fees).
  • It aligns with the UAE’s “Year of the Community 2025” theme “Hand in Hand”, underlining efforts to improve community welfare and citizen satisfaction.
  • It reflects a broader trend toward more flexible, digital-friendly government services, making processes less stressful for residents.

What To Watch Out For / Next Steps

  • Residents should confirm with their specific bank whether their credit card is eligible. Not all cards may support the scheme yet.
  • While there’s no interest, there may be terms and conditions set by banks (e.g. minimum monthly instalment, late payment fees). Always verify.
  • We’ll likely see rollouts of similar instalment options for other government services over time.
