Or you can choose AB PMJAY.
You will get benefits even if you join the state government scheme
People who have a private health insurance policy or who are covered under the Employees State Insurance Scheme will be eligible for benefits under AB PM-JAY.
What is Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana?
AB PM-JAY is the world’s largest publicly funded health insurance scheme, providing health cover of Rs 5 lakh per family for secondary care hospitalisation to 55 crore individuals from 12.34 crore families. All eligible family members, irrespective of their age, are covered under the scheme, the statement said. Also, it has provided hospitalisation cover to 7.37 crore people, of which 49 per cent are female beneficiaries. The scheme has benefited the public by over Rs 1 lakh crore.
The AB PM-JAY scheme has seen a steady expansion of the beneficiary base. Initially, 10.74 crore poor and vulnerable families from the bottom 40 per cent of India’s population were covered under the scheme. Later, the government expanded the beneficiary base under AB PM-JAY from 10.74 crore to 12 crore families, taking into account the 11.7 percent increase in India’s population as compared to 2011. The scheme was further extended to provide access to free health care facilities to 37 lakh ASHA/AWW/AWH women health workers operating across the country and their families.
